This property is located just outside the city of Albi – on the line of hills in the background of the above photograph. Merely 10 minutes from the city centre, the 12th century fortified cathedral and the Toulouse-Lautrec museum.
Perched on a hill-top, this former farm with its manor house, converted barn, stables and out-buildings is completely surrounded by fields and woods.
The main house has 3 bedrooms, spacious kitchen, dining room and living room. There is a separate entrance at the side and an independent guest room (en-suite) on the first floor.
The guest house is in a separate building with 5 en-suite guest rooms, a small kitchen, a vast living/dining room where breakfast and meals are served and a number of outdoor, covered terraces. Guests have use of a summer kitchen beside the pool.
The other wing of the courtyard is given over to stables and barns, above which are a number of former apartments where farm-hands used to live. In all, there is over 1000m² of empty building space for renovation.
Our opinion: The excellent location of this property – less than 15 minutes from one of France’s most attractive UNESCO sites – means that it would be a pity not to exploit the well-run guest house already in place. As this business brings in over €70k per year it could be used to finance the renovation of the unused barns.
